Herman E. Hurst, Jr.
Herman attended Georgia Institute of Technology (1957-1961) studying Electrical Engineering while participating in the Cooperative Education program with his work periods spent at the Federal Communications Commission.
In 1961 Herman joined Gautney and Jones, Consulting Engineers, the predecessor firm to Carl T. Jones Corporation. Over the past 50 years Herman has supported technical services to commercial and educational broadcasters, state and local governments as well as Federal agencies and the Department of Defense. His responsibilities have included design and project engineering, program management and contract administration.
Today Herman provides project management in the firm's Broadcast Consulting Services division. This group is primarily responsible for the design of multi-element AM directional antenna systems, frequency allocations studies to develop new or improved broadcast facilities (AM and FM radio, as well as Television) FCC application preparation, transmission facility design, and field engineering related to adjustment and performance certification of radio transmission systems.
